# NEED Privacy Policy

This policy describes what personal data the NEED website and app (need.career)
collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It complements the
[Terms of Use](https://need.career/terms/public/terms-of-use.md).

## What we collect

- **Account data.** When you sign in with Google OAuth we receive your name,
  email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password.
- **Content you add.** Interviews, notes, transcripts, links, checklists,
  stories, files and reminders you create in the app. This content belongs to you.
- **Usage analytics.** We use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and
  Contentsquare to understand how the site is used (pages visited, interactions,
  approximate location, device type). These tools use cookies or similar
  technologies.

## How we use it

- To provide the Services: your interview data is stored securely and associated
  with your account so your pipeline follows you across devices.
- To generate AI analysis: content you submit for analysis (for example a
  transcript) is processed with Anthropic's Claude API solely to produce the
  feedback you asked for.
- To improve the product, using aggregated usage analytics.

## What we don't do

- We do not sell your personal content to third parties.
- We do not share your personal interview data with other users or third parties.
- We do not use your private content for advertising.

## Where your data lives

Application data is stored in Supabase (managed Postgres) with authentication via
Supabase Auth and Google OAuth. The frontend is served by Vercel and the backend
runs on Railway. Each provider processes data on our behalf under its own
security and privacy commitments.

## Your choices and rights

- Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by
  emailing daniel@need.career from the address on your account.
- Request a copy of the data associated with your account the same way.
- Block analytics cookies with your browser's tracking protection; the product
  keeps working.
